6 May 2013: PROTEA BANKS
Current: medium
Viz: 30m + (top to bottom)
Sea temp: 24 degrees Celsius
Sightings:
FIRST DIVE: BAITED OFF NORTHERNS. Where does one start? ...
Well to start off we had 1 HUGE Tiger shark that stayed with us for the whole dive. Then 10 to 14 Oceanic Blacktips sharks, popping in and out (sorry so much action, hard to keep exact tab). And if this was not enough we had 4 Zambezi (Bull) sharks grace us with their presence. Also Bonita popping on and off the bait drum.
So if this didn't get your attention, the wait on the boat between a double tank, produced 2 big pods of Dolphins and well as a False Killer Whale. Enough ... no we still have the second dive to report ...
SECOND DIVE: REEF DIVE OFF SOUTHERNS
Another HUGE Tiger shark and 3 Zambezi (Bull) sharks at the bottom. Then 2 Eagle Rays and a Potato Bass. Than a HUGE Manta ray just to add a bit more flavour. The reef was alive with reef fish and also a big shoal of Bonita. Bored yet ... well the safety stop wasn't boring, we had 7 Oceanic Blacktip sharks and another 4 Zambezi sharks. WHAT A DAY ... and yes the time has come for all of you reading this to finally quit your jobs ... unless of course you work for Aqua Planet Dive Centre and Charter!
So due to all the threats of deleting me off Facebook, I have no choice but to do a bad post for Protea Banks today, so nobody has to quit their jobs or come on holiday immediately.
3 May 2013:
